Chief Medical Officer (CMO)
Dr. Craig A. Sponseller is the CMO at KOWA Pharmaceuticals America and serves on the Board of Directors. He has been with the company since 2010.
Dr. Sponseller has been practicing internal medicine for over 12 years, specializing in gastroenterology and hepatology. He previously served as CMO and EVP for several medical education and pharmaceutical agencies as an advisor and consultant in Brand and Medical Launch Strategy for a number of US pharmaceutical products. Dr. Sponseller currently dedicates his time to both phase 3/4 and ongoing clinical development of the flagship product LIVALO® (pitavastatin). Additionally, he frequently engages in KOL/HCP education and training; heads investigator initiated trials, continuing medical education, publication strategy, and medical information/customer data dissemination; and leads a nationally renowned team of medical science liaisons.
Dr. Sponseller enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and visiting his family in Serbia and the Football Hall of Fame city of Canton, Ohio. He is also a percussionist and drummer for numerous musicians and bands of various genres.
